Today, The Foodscape celebrates its Second Anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been two years since my first post on The Foodscape. Little did I know then that it would become my life. 🙂
The Foodscape has had a tremendous year indeed. It started out with the routine five working days and blogging over the weekends, survived a big move to another country, launched its logo, travelled to Thailand and had an incredible Christmas, filled with the season’s best. Then 2016 rolled in and I worked hard to put many wonderful recipes out for you. Happy Days!
Needless to say, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Through a year that was filled with challenges, changes and a few hurdles here and there, The Foodscape has been my escape – my Happy Place. 🙂
I’ve learnt a lot on this short journey. I’ve understood the value of dedication. I started many a blog back when I was younger, but none of them lived to see the light of even a sixth monthiversary, let alone an anniversary. I learnt that hard work is the only way to ensure that what your audience reads is truly worth their time. And that loving what you do, no matter what it is (I’m serious, even if it is doing the dishes 😛), is the ONLY way to be truly happy!
This past year, I did some work that I’m particularly proud of. I did some photography that had me gasping in surprise (when I look at my old photographs, I realise that you, my wonderful readers, are such saints for putting up with them), some writing that repeatedly reminds me ‘practice makes perfect’ and some cooking and baking that made my taste buds and tummy very very happy, much to the chagrin of the weighing scale. 😀

So, here I’ve made a small roundup of the past year’s highlights – I hope you enjoyed these recipes as much as I did! 🙂
Favourite Savoury Recipe – Spaghetti & Meatballs
This dish was such a hit in my home that I’ve cooked it up quite a few times. Making meatballs from scratch is such a treat and it really does bring a lot more flavour to the sauce than a store-bought variety would! 🙂
Favourite Breakfast Recipe – Chocolate Chunk Pancakes
There is no morning fuel quite like these Chocolate Chunk Pancakes provide- deliciously chocolaty and filling, they are the best way to start your day!
Favourite Fruity Dessert Recipe – Mango Swirl Cheesecake
This cheesecake is super creamy, just the right amount of rich, and perfectly Mango-licious – in short, your ticket to paradise!
Favourite Cookie Bar Recipe – Crownies
The crunch of the cookie layer and the gooey-ness of the brownie layer is a match made in heaven! ‘Nuff said!
Favourite Photography – Lemon Blueberry Pancakes
As I shot these images, I couldn’t quite believe just how amazing they were turning out. Awestruck, I was! 😀 Oh, and these pancakes are yum, yum, YUM! ❤
That about sums up my year! A big shoutout to all my lovely readers for being such an integral part of my food journey. It’s our common love for all-things-delicious that keeps fueling my passion for cooking and blogging about mouthwatering food! Thank you so much! ❤
Do keep visiting The Foodscape, ’cause I’ve got tonnes of exciting stuff in store for you! Lots of deliciousness coming your way! That’s a promise! 😀
